Gradings

Condition code this covers the wear on the surface of the record.

 

F A fine unblemished copy showing no signs of use
AF A copy which has some superficial marks, with no wear apparent
AF/VG A copy that shows some slight signs of wear, hving little effect on playing.(The Sound is always described for this and following grades).
VG A copy in 'average' condition, with some wear and scuffs.
VG/G VG/G — A copy with more pronounced wear and scuffs, but capable of acceptable sound.
G

A copy which has been heavily used and is not recommended as a playing copy.

Other defects are noted as follows, or, in the case of other types of damage not covered below, by specific reference under the item listed.


RS-Rough start, EC-Edge chip [effect on grooves always specified]. HC-Hair crack [showing as crack on one side only], C- Crack [showing on both sides, and length always specified together with number of clicks], ULC- Under label crack. LNR- Light needle run or NR- Needle run, with severity and number of clicks specified, ND-Needle dig, with severity and number of clicks specified.
